If you’re oven isn’t working like it should, you may just need some common oven repair parts. Replacing parts in appliances is a necessary evil, although replacing simple parts is much easier and less expensive than replacing the whole unit.

Some of the most common oven repair parts

Ovens are easy to maintain and can last for a long time, if taken care of appropriately. Most commercial ovens are specifically designed for easy maintenance.  Before you begin maintenance, make sure to turn off the gas or unplug the oven in the case of electric.

The most common problems with ovens include burned out bulbs and clogged burners. Bulbs are easily replaced by removing any necessary panels and replacing the bulb with another of the correct wattage. Gas burners should be cleaned after every use to avoid residue build up. Steel wool is very useful for removing particulates from the pinholes, allowing gas to flow smoothly.

Gas ovens are preferred by many, but also have some common oven repair parts that might need replacing. Failure to provide proper maintenance on a gas oven is dangerous, possibly resulting in a natural gas explosion. A very common problem with gas ovens is the burners failing to light. Usually, this is due to a dirty or burned out electrode. The electrode provides the spark to ignite the pilot light for the burner.  To solve this problem you should first try to clean the electrode with a toothbrush or rough sponge.
